Introduction

Welcome to the Kutztown University guide for using Keeper, a secure and efficient password management tool. This guide will help you understand how to use Keeper to manage your passwords and protect your sensitive information.


What is Keeper?

Keeper is a password management solution that helps you create, store and autofill your passwords securely. It uses zero-knowledge encryption, ensuring that only you have access to your stored data.


Getting Started with Keeper

  • Request access to Keeper through the KU IT Help Center.
  • Once your account is ready, navigate to https://www.keepersecurity.com.
  • Login to the Keeper Web Vault with you KU Single Sign-On credentials.
  • Enter your KU SSO username and select Enterprise SSO Login.
  • Enter kutztown.edu as the Enterprise Domain and Connect.



  • If this is your first time logging, your device will need approval. Choose Admin Approval when prompted. 

  • Leave Enable Two-Factor Authentication unchecked (your KU SSO MFA will be used during login).

Adding a Password

  • Click on the + button to add a new password.
  • Enter the website URL, your username, and password.

  • Save the entry to your vault.

  • Passwords can be organized by creating folders.


KeeperFill Browser Extension (Autofill)

The KeeperFill Browser Extension is a quick and easy way to access passwords and will help auto fill passwords on sites with saved credentials. To use KeeperFill:

  • Download and install the Keeper browser extension for your browser here: https://www.keepersecurity.com/download.html?t=f.
  • Login using your Kutztown University SSO credentials.

  • When you visit a login page, KeeperFill will prompt you to autofill your credentials.


Best Practices

  • Regularly Update Passwords: Change your passwords periodically to enhance security.
  • Use Unique Passwords: Avoid reusing passwords across different sites.
  • Use passwords that are greater than 15 characters and contain special characters (!@#$%...)
